Pizza Tower - Pizzaface P Rank [SPOILERS] [Hitless]

Getting any rank is acquired by getting enough points in the level. You can get either a D, C, B, A, or S Rank based on your performance at the end. Getting to B isn't too difficult if you're aiming for most of the collectibles in a level, but if you want to hit S rank you will have to pull up some leg work.

To get a P Rank in a level, it is expected that you do the following things within one run of any level:

Kill an enemy before leaving the first room
Get enough points for an S Rank
Find all toppins
Find all secrets
Get the secret treasure
Go through the Lap 2 portal
Never drop your combo once

i love how you can see peppinos absolute stress and anger as he just annihilates the previous bosses

I find it both amazing and hilarious how the dramatic background with the rain and lightning and actual solar eclipse (i guess, since lunar eclipses don't look like that) only appears AFTER Peppino goes completely ballistic, it feels like he managed to trigger both a mighty thunderstorm AND a literal eclipse just as a byproduct of being so all-consumingly livid and utterly done with Pizzahead's shit.

When peppino was piledriving pizzaface into the tower so hard that tears were streaming from his eyes, I felt more excited than i've felt from a video game in years. This game could not have a better ending.

a small detail i thought was cool is that when Pizzahead pulls up the fork guys in phase 2, he's actually trying to pull out the sword from Pizzascape. it's got some sort of Excalibur thing going on, and Pizzahead isn't worthy (because he's an evil bastard), so he just pulls up the ENTIRETY of Pizzascape with it.
this also implies that Peppino is worthy or that he is the "true king". true king of the local pizza market, i guess

I love how through the game Peppino is shown to be scared of the bosses until the final fight were he's visibly holding back his rage, only for it to boil over when Pizza-Face brings all the other bosses back. As the old saying goes "Don't mess with a man who handles sharp objects for a living".

I absolutely love how after the other bosses are summoned, Peppino just loses his mind.

fucking love this bossfight. when you see the bosses that youve already beaten appear again for the first time youre like "for fucks sake not again" but its just such an unexpected feeling when peppino ALSO gets mad because hes thinking the exact same thing. its amazing

Oh, huh, Pizzaface grabs the sword in the stone from the lower levels, and pulls it up.
He looks up after, waiting for the lightning strike, but it never comes, so he looks nervous right afterwards.

I love everything about this. The game doesn’t just bring back the bosses and make you fight them in a gauntlet, it puts you into a blind rage so you actually have a leg up. And once you do finally beat them for the last time, you get a pathetic fight from Pizzahead himself before erasing him from the face of the planet in the most epic cutscene I think I’ve ever seen. God this game is incredible.

fun fact: you can cheese phase 1 by making him spawn near infinite cheeseslimes. just dont pile drive him or hit him on the side with the most cheeseslimes, he'll knock them out

I love how absolutely FED UP Peppino is by the time the previous bosses come around for the boss rush

2:04 Pizza head going from laughter to shock after Peppino starts screaming is the best.

yknow, most boss rushes in games tend to be tests of endurance, and to show how many skills you've acquired across the game. but what i like about what it does here is how its basically just done to show emotion; the fact that the ONLY thing thats even changed about peppino is his state of pure, vengeful wrath is what makes this scene work so well. its one of the most visceral scenes in one of the most visceral games ever made.

I love how everyone I've seen complete this level ALWAYS breakdances over Pizzaface, its just props to the dev for knowing their gamers
