I’ve had this happen so often that I’ve started to think that there must be something about me/my personality that makes doctors disbelieve me. I once broke my arm and the triage nurse wouldn’t believe me - it took 3 weeks to get an x-ray via my primary care doctor that showed that my arm was broken. The nurse had told me off for putting it in a sling and said I caused the lasting pain/inability to move it properly by putting it in the sling and I’d apologised to her! And that’s just my least harrowing example. Thanks for bringing up how this happens. When you have a chronic health issue it can feel utterly relentless.

Just got diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance … doctor tried to prescribe hormone replacement therapy to me when I’m a cancer survivor with a family history of breast cancer so synthetic hormones are a big no no … when I questioned her she waved her hand at me and said don’t worry about it …. 🤔don’t worry about getting cancer again ? Is she for real ? What’s happening to doctors these days? I later wrote her an email explaining my concerns and why I do not want to take hormone replacement and she told me in order to speak with her I had to make another appointment and pay her again ?! What in the actual f@$&!!!

why sibling has achalasia and when doctors were trying to find a diagnosis for them and they couldn’t find one they did exactly this is was so disappointing to see that’s the top doctors in the country really thought my sibling was making it up.

Everyone has something wrong. Just depends on how tough you are and live with it
