HOW TO OPEN WARDED TYPES LOCKS without picking ( some cases)

some warded locks or lever tumblers lock type has some "window of oppurtunity" (as i call it).. and from this window we can exploit the chance in opening this lock if key is missing.

Just freed my bedroom door using this technique. Lock was stuck. Wouldn’t open with the key, even after I’d added graphite. So drilled a hole, and used the key instead of a tension wrench, and inserted a screwdriver in the hole. After a few seconds they key was turning fully in both directions. Thanks 👍

Most USA lever locks lack this 'window', and many here also do not have slotted levers (or will have only one) to defend against over-lifting, so picking this type here is just one small step tougher than picking a true warded-only lock. And most of ours can be worked with a set of cheap 'skeleton keys' as we never went to complex warding.

Just managed to lock myself in my bedroom. NO tools! Was an incorrect key and will not open again.

Found a Stanley blade in the side table drawer. Managed to undo 4 screws on the cover plate with it. Measured your recommended 1" and carved a 1/4" hole
Widened the hole to allow the width of the stanley blade into the 'window' and lift 2 levers.

I can open such locks in seconds with the head of the cloth hanger... but this guy does professional work

Can I get the dimension of the tension wrench (the length of each bends)?

Technically speaking, isn't this still picking, but facilitated picking in that the tumblers are lifted and the bolt is moved through separate holes?

I have a similar look but lost the keys, i manage to open it in the past through a hex key and a pair of tongue, but i was pure luck and trying do you have any ideas how to open it again strategic?

one tooth broke off lock & it's not an important room so am I able to re lock it usin this method by turning the lever the opposite way until I can afford a new lock? thanx
