Learn Greek: Vocabulary | Describing Houses - Το σπίτι στην εξοχή και στην πόλη

In this #greekvocabulary lesson, you're going to learn about 60 new Greek words, including nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, pronouns and more.

You're going to learn how to describe a house on the outside, by using simple sentences.

Don't worry if you don't know how to decline nouns, adjectives or pronouns yet! I'm going to make more videos to teach you all that soon. Let's take it slowly!

In this lesson we're going to see both a country house and an urban apartmenet building.

In future lessons we're going to see the interiors of a house and we'll learn how to describe each room and its essentials.

I haven't mentioned the definite and indefinite articles in this video because I have already uploaded separate grammar lessons about them.

The video is created and edited by Learn Greek with Lina (me) in July 2017.

Hi Lina! I love your videos!. I would love if you considered making vocab videos for in doors, room by room. The kitchen, it's stove, oven, fridge, knives forks etc. Then the living room with the carpet, the couch, the tv etc. Then the bedroom, the mirror the bedside table, the cupboards etc. The bathroom, the shower and bath, the towels, etc... the study, the desk the books, etc.

Mis Lina, Thank you for your hard work. I really enjoyed the video. Regarding the weather: it’s Texas, it’s summer, and it is hot enough to fry an egg on the top of your truck. Regards.

Greetings from sunny Cyprus! Just to say many thanks for all your time and hard work. I learnt Greek in a Greek grammar class (where everyone could already speak the language) and it was all text book based (all writing and reading) not much speaking, so these are great for me to confirm accent/emphasis and check/revise words and pronunciation. Great to see you are so helpful also replying to people. I have downloaded the book you recommended in the seaside video - thanks for that! Any other free download recommendations?

Now I am curious about something. I learned how to form the past in Greek a while ago, though I am not that good at it yet. So are έχει απλώσει and άπλωσε the same thing? Is there a difference in meaning, or is it just like, for example, the passé simple and passé composé in French? In this case, which is used more often in everyday speech by modern Greeks?

Τα κτήρια γράφονται με "η" διότι ετυμολογούνται από την λέξη "κτήτωρ" και όχι από το "κτίζω".
