You can reduce your water bill by installing a rain barrel to capture rainwater. A diverter is a great add-on to help direct the water from your downspout into your rain barrel. While this isn't difficult to install, there are some common mistakes that you should try to avoid. I'll show you the process as well as the little mistake that I made (and had to fix) along the way!

I put the hose directly into my rain barrel and when the barrel is full cannot control the overflow. Seems there isn't enough pressure up the hose to stop the water from continuing to flow down the hose to the rain barrel?
