I have a disability and cannot ride an upright bike. Backroads was very clear right up front that they would not accomodate outside special needs bikes. I offered to ship my bike and have it assembled and ready for tour. I also explained that I was proficient in it's maintenance and repair and that if it became unrideable that would be a risk I would take. They very clearly said they would not support the storage/transportation of my tadpole bike. I may not understand, but I did appreciate their upfront clarity. The good news is that I found Duvine Cycling Tours, a very highly rated company that was really wonderful. They have worked to understand my challenges and then to figure out how to work and accomodate them. Really excited to be going on our first tour with Duvine!
