Futures of Education launch – Remarks from Tristan Harris, Center for Humane Technology

UNESCO’s new Futures of Education initiative aims to rethink how knowledge and learning can shape the future of humanity and the planet. Looking to 2050 and beyond the initiative seeks to spark the conversation across the globe in order to reimagine how education can contribute to the global common good.
The initiative was launched on 25th September 2019, at the United Nations General Assembly, in New York (United States). Speaking as part of a panel, Mr. Tristan Harris, Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Center for Humane Technology, offered his perspectives on the futures of education, discussing the important question of whether people’s views are shaped more by what they learn online than in schools.
