I am a doula, and the same thing happens with the term "postpartum." Postpartum just refers to the state of having had a baby. Postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or postpartum psychosis are disorders that may arise in the period following birth.

Thank you for addressing this! I feel like people are judging me because they have these high expectations on me, and if I don't meet those standards, I feel like a failure in life. It's like, I'm sorry if I can't be perfect, I'm struggling with depression and no one wants these "negative emotions" because it's too draining. Well, I can't fake happiness too because it's too toxic. Toxic positivity is real too. It's like, I'm trying to find that "sweet spot".

I prefer to view everyone as
" in the spectrum"

If everyone was placed
" on the spectrum" America could erase and or eliminate, the stigma that surrounds, struggling through life.

There is no such thing as normal. And to say, Sam is normal, is to imply, Sam has never had any struggles in his life. It is absurd to assume, that some people, rare if ever, experienced struggle through life.

Thank you for your input.

But not all of us have mental health problems. You don't have a clinical psychiatric issue unless you are formally diagnosed with one, like any illness. Your not going to say you have cancer if your not diagnosed with it. Clinical depression and feeling depressed are not the same in any way until a formal clinical diagnosis. Everything else is normal human emotions and crap you deal with in life
