The instructions are useless and the fittings are different now but if I didn't find this video, I would have really struggled. Thanks for posting, all be it twelve years ago. It got me through! Good gate once you work it out.

Just bought this retractable gate for my daughter. The five templates do not apply to this gate. The Instructions and templates were inside the sealed plastic wrapping, within the cardboard box. The locking rod (G) measures 90cm. The templates measure 79cm between the proposed drill/screw holes. However by placing the Brackets C and D onto the gate (L M), and the Brackets E and F on the locking rote (G), the distance between BOTH screw holes measures 85cm. This makes the templates useless by giving incorrect instruction for installing this Dreambaby retractable gate. Very disappointed with this.

It's good that this installation video is up and every company should do this but seriously just do a normal video without the cringe music and cheap smiles, just get a chap to install the gate without making him look like a cretin or deranged psycho. Thanks though, very useful video in terms of the technical aspects of installation

I eventually installed this gate last night. However, when my daughter tried to close this gate “one handed”, it sprung back and hit her where she had her operation, causing considerable pain to her. WARNING spring mechanism too strong/tight.

This gate requires two hands to operate safely, all or most of the time. NOT suitable!

Am i able to use this for my small dog? also we need one to fit across a space of 1570mm. can i use any extensions with this?

Dreambabytv You should provide better instruction and direction for this product other wise it's a useless piece of rubbish that consumers will simply disguard or send back through frustration on the crap instruction guide. Very disapointed and stressed.

It looks like you need two hands to both open the gate and close the gate. This means that you can't use it if you have a kid in your arms.

WHY didn’t you post a video of the installation on the bottom of a staircase?
WHY? Not all of us want to mount it outside a door frame.
