How I Fast-Read Research Articles

This is how to read research articles efficiently:
• Start by reading the abstract to get a good overview and decide if the paper is worth reading in its entirety.
• Then read the introduction to gain an appreciation of the background of the topic, the problems and gaps in knowledge.
• After this, quickly glance at the hypotheses, aims and purposes of the study to get a clear idea of what they’re arguing for.
• Then skip ahead to glance at the graphs and charts of the results section.
• Spend most of your time in the discussion section where they talk about explanations for the findings, biases, limitations and suggested future studies.
• End by quickly skimming the conclusion.
