He's supposed to be afraid! It's dangerous to let young dogs (under one year) jump from heights (and your bed is high) like beds and sofas because it can cause ligament strain that will adversely affect them later in life and shorten their life span.
I know from experience...I wish your pupper a long and healthy as possible life. Don't make the mistakes I did.
