Harbor Freight Tool Hack— Die grinder made from cut off tool.

Convert a Harbor Freight 3 inch cut-off tool to a die grinder with a 3/8 inch drill chuck. I don't think they even sell these anymore. They were junk with no power. However, it does work well if you convert it. Here's how:

All you need is a used chuck from an old drill and a longer machine screw to attach to the cut-off arbor. The size of the new screw is 6mm x 1.0 thread x 34 mm long (I - 5/16'') with a socket head or Phillips, Torx, etc. I show how to modify the screw in the video to a head diameter of 3/8 inch (just under 10mm) with a 45º taper to allow the chuck jaws to close. Will work with any sized tool shank from 3/8 down to 1/16"

Thanks for your time … wish you would have explained/shown the screw and the area you said needs tapered down or cone shaped etc was unclear on that …great video thanks for posting

If anyone would like a shop drawing of the screw and the modifications, send me an email thru YT. Just click on the "O" logo and go to <about> and the email should show.
