Never going back unless I get acrylic. Gel X is amazing. I can pickup my credit cards and coins!!! They last forever. My current set has been on three weeks, went to the beach, dug for hours in the sand, I use them as openers, the list goes on.

I thank god when I found gel x nails. I found them here on YouTube. I tried acrylic myself but it takes more time and i have a kid now so I don’t want her breathing in those chemicals. Gel nails are just as strong, healthier, and now I’m saving money and time not going to the shop. Also the people that do nails by me speak English as a second language so it can be hard to understand their accents. It gives me anxiety during a time I’m supposed to be relaxing. Now I do them myself and I get so many compliments.

When I do mine at home I buff out my natural nail after I’m done doing my manicure then apply the base coat cure for 90 sec then start with gel colors or designs or whatever then top coat it again. The buffing helps the gel sit on the nail bed and adhere better

I use ball pit gel polish and don’t even have to prime my nails. It doesn’t peel at all. I literally have to file it off if I’m changing the color. It’s amazing!

Rather than buffing the nail try a file, buffing is to make the surface smooth so you want to make it rough with a file so the extension has something to stick on to❤

To me, I think the nail file would be the easiest as it’s the most visual. Thanks for the help!

this makes so much sense after all these years you taught me how to use gel. I would put on a layer and it would always peel off like you showed. I never realized I needed to prep the box never said anything about prepping😭😭

I roughed up the surface of my gel x tip and apply the color, then top coat. No extra steps needed.

I do this method to etch my nails so the glue can adhere since I don’t have the ones already etched but never thought about it for the polish part! Thanks

I’m not sure how damaging it could be but I feel like you could use method three to test out a design your not sure about

Have you noticed one method being better than the other? I wanted to try the primer method, because i usually buff with my drill but even that takes too long for me lol. I want quick and easy (and i usually make xxxl nails 😅)

I dont do either and no gel ever comes off them 😅
