Sup guys. For this song I like to mix in some Dsus2 with the D, Asus4 with the A, and Cadd9 with the C. You can sorta switch between them with your strumming, adds a bit more texture to it. Also, the strumming and the actual melody I find they are hard to sync up so that will take some practice for sure if you're singing as well.

You can also barr the a and have the high e ring out and it sounds a bit closer

This is great, but for the intro you said to lift your finger off of the “D” string, but it is the “G” string is it not?

I used to play D and instead of the A I used to play it 2 string lower. Don't know what the chord was D sus or something That sounded so much closer to the original

You can also play an a6 and pull off back to a a major halfway through, that’s how it is in the song
