The Panasonic Lumix S1R II has been officially registered and is set to launch in 2025. It features a new 44.3MP back-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor, offering a balance between high resolution and noise management. The camera supports handheld high-resolution mode up to 177MP, 8K 30p and 4K 120p 10-bit video recording, and boasts advanced AI-powered phase hybrid autofocus with subject tracking. Weighing about 25% less than its predecessor, it includes 8 stops of in-body image stabilization, a multi-angle flip screen, dual UHS-II SD card slots, and a weather-sealed body. Pricing is expected around $3,500, positioning it as a powerful hybrid camera for both stills and video creators. The release is anticipated in early 2025, with firmware updates planned to unlock features like 8.1K open-gate shooting.

Two questions. Is that the same sensor that's in the Leicas? Will the color science be the same as Leica's?

They need to drop the price. S1R was a very slow seller.

I don't understand why, at the technological level we are at now, we don't already have internal memory and a screen on our cameras like on smartphones? Why is the white balance so bad on mirrorless cameras?

it is amazing but nobody cares about this camera
i am so surprised how panasonic is not focused on the product to make.. they did an amazing piece and they have to improve it.. and it's S5... and then an sh1II the gh6 was unbearable.. the gh7 it's ok .. but if they do not focus on video they are lost.. as photos they have been always two steps behind.. so panasonic cut the crap.. and make bold decision.. and you will save your market share.. nikon in this respect is doing a lot.. and also panasonic it's time to get along with blackmagic.. and make a joint venture and make a camera together.. nikon has now red.. canon is canon.. and sony is sony.. you are the forth keyplayer.. but soon fujifilm will be eating your market share if they are smart.. the camera market is shrinking.. what to say.. i own a gh5 and it has been the most painful camera i ever owned.. come on.. go all in ....s1 or r1 were mistakes.. a useless copycat...
