To me, this line actually speaks volumes. Peter Parker is meant to just be an average guy; someone you'd pass on the street without a second glance. It speaks to the whole idea that Spiderman could be anybody, and that any "random guy" can be a hero. Also many of the younger audiences hadn't seen the Raimi movies, so to them, Tobey Maguire may as well been a random guy. But to OG fans, he's one of the greatest hero of all.

I love how Tobey’s more experienced Spider-Man, having faced down so many other villains, immediately goes for Andrew’s wrists to stop his webs. Gotta respect the OG.

I am 45, and I went to see the movie with my 11 yo kid. I still remember when Toby showed up, the entire theater cheered up, and people clapping, I was so emotional that the first thing I did was look at my son to share the moment with him, but His face was so confused, I Said that he was the first Spiderman, the best Spiderman ever. He replied, oohhh thats why he looks so old, lol. One of the best moments with my kid

It's easy to miss, but Tobey kicks off the ceiling so he'll land faster and get the next shot first. Really goes to show how much more experienced he is

Clearly shows who is more experienced. Tobey kicked the ceiling so he could land and recover quicker. He blocked Andrew’s web shot by covering up his webbing’s points of origin.

I love that you could feel Tobey and Andrew's Spider-Senses tingling when they saw each other. Just like all Spider-Men did in Into the Spider-Verse.

Tobey still has those shy Peter Parker mannerisms, like the soft and gentle “Hi” he gives Ned’s lola…he’ll always be the true Spider-man to me

I really, really love how Andrew's Spidey is still the goofiest despite canonically being the angriest. He got the shortest end of the stick, the only one to lose 'his MJ' permanently. Yet he still naturally blends pain and humour into scenes.

The way Tobey said it is so great. The background music just showed how humble and responsible his Spidey was.

1 thing I love about this movie is how the Spidermen weren't pulled directly out of their last movies. They feel like they've grown organically the number of years since their last movies. Tobey Peter (2007) exudes a calmer demeanor of an adult. He's aged, but experienced and more confident. Andrew Peter (2014) is still goofy but a little subdued. You get the hint he's still maturing from relatively fresh rough patches. Really makes it feel like we're meeting REAL friends.

Every time I see something from this movie again it just makes me wish I could go back to the first time I saw it in theater. Nothing compares to the original feeling

I know it’s not fair but Tobey will always be the O.G. Spider-Man for us late 90s kids…Can’t replace the nostalgia feel from 2002 “And they say that a hero can save us, im not gonna stand here and wait”
