How well this guitar sounds, Sascha! It is always amazing to hear you playing on these demos! So amazing nuances in both distortion and clean tones! Thanks for sharing!♥️🎸

I’ve been lucky enough to play a Gibson 1959 355 reissue and there is a difference with neck width but not a $7k difference. I can only see epiphone raise the price for this guitar because the value and quality is there.

Got my Epi 355 IBG from Sweetwater. Buffed it out, there was a big snafu in shipping, but they backed out the 300 it cost me to have it Plek'd and set up. So, 1299 plus tax for a Plek'd Epiphone 355. It looks stunning and plays better than my vintage Gibsons. I love it. Well worth the money. A bargain. I don't know how it would compare to a custom shop 355, but even though I love my vintage Gibsons, this is a great looking player that I can take anywhere without worry.

That sound first 20 seconds is unreal. Exact sound I’m going for. What amp are you using please?

which amp did you use in this video clip?

I just can't abide that almost melon red flat dull finish. But the sound is dreamy

Thanks for using the tone and volume knobs and not just different pickup positions. Nice playing also!

How was the condition of the frets? Are they the typical Epiphone condition, meaning sharp fret ends and in need of a good polishing.

The pickup toggle is the wrong colour. Was this a personal choice or manufacturing inconsistency?
These are supposed to come with the “vintage” yellowy looking ones.

Not a big deal but if mine comes with the wrong knob I shall be most displeased 😅

comes off the same line as the standard epi's at the qingdao factory... you're paying for some upgraded parts, but the same "skilled workers" are putting these together alongside the budget epis. the "ebony" is also a cheaper species, and don't be fooled by the extra couple cents wholesale going into the "upgraded" "mallory" caps or thinking anyone from the Gibson custom shop are touching these. decent guitar, don't get me wrong, but don't fool yourself you're getting a better "build" than a standard epi. it just has some upgraded parts and appointments.

Epiphone all day long over Gibson...Joe Pass uses an Emperor. Epiphone produces a signature model of Pass' guitar.
Les Paul used Epiphone guitars for recording from the early 1940s until the late 1950s, even after his signature Gibsons were produced. The Epiphones were highly customized models with his own pickups on them.
Luke Pritchard of The State of Things uses a custom ES-335 Dot with fitted frequensator
