Michael Chandler says he has the recipe to beat Khabib | UFC 254

Former Bellator champion Michael Chandler has been tapped to serve as the back-up to the UFC 254 main event bout between lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim titleholder Justin Gaethje. He doesn't approach the fight as a back-up. He approaches it with the belief that he will one day be the UFC lightweight champion.

It's not just Chandler's background that he believes in, it's what he brings to the table. Chandler believes he has the recipe that no other fighter has concocted to date, the recipe to defeat Khabib.

Watching this now, after Chandler has lost to both Poirier and Gaethje, and for that matter to Oliviera as well, it's become all too obvious how asinine it was for him to say he could have beaten Khabib. And to emphasize that he specifically could beat him with wrestling is even more absurd.
