Designing Interactive Intelligent Systems for Learning & Teaching

Professor George Magoulas and Konstantinos Karoudis talk about their research in designing interactive intelligent systems for learning and teaching. George Magoulas introduces the challenges involved in providing personalised intelligent support to learners during online learning tasks and possible technology approaches. He talks about the challenges of supporting teachers in creating and sharing learning designs and the role of ontological modelling in capturing the learning designs being created by a community of teachers. Konstantinos Karoudis describes a new pedagogy-driven framework for supporting personalised lifelong learning, spanning formal and informal learning, both online and offline. Learner modelling is at core of the framework, and he proposes use of the Experience API and distributed ledger technology to implement the framework.
