This friendship should be inspiring to everyone, especially in our current divided era of politics. You may have different political opinions with someone but that shouldn't prevent you from treating them with respect and not as your enemy. This goes for both sides.

It's nice to know that politics don't really have to run the lives of people.

No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, we should all strive to be more like this. What a lovely friendship.

These two were political adversaries but could still be good friends. If more of us could be that way it would be the best memorial we could give to both of them.

Everyone could learn from this. These two were polar opposites on the political spectrum and how they interpreted their role as judges and yet it didn't stop them from maintaining a friendship

This, and the friendship between Joe Biden and John McCain, things like this give me faith in our country

This is a story that represents the best of America. It is what all people who are in reasonable disagreement with each other should strive for.

So i am personally on the right and agree with Antonin Scalia on most issues yet my best friend and his wife disagrees with me on almost everything. But what makes it so valuable if we disagree? We learn to see what the other sides actually see and think.

The difference between the left and the right politically speaking is that both sides sees the same issues but from opposing ways so to speak. If we take immigration for example, the left sees all those poor people that we obviously must save, what the right sees are those hiding among those refugees and questions if they should really come here. The right arent talking about the poor destitute people seeking a place to live, they see the people hiding in their midst with alterior motives, aiming at hurting the people in our country.

As a Swede this is rather apparant, with our mass immigration where everyone was pretty much welcome and we wait a little bit and we have no go zones and gang violence, drugs, sexual harassment and rapes going up, since the left (the social democrats) just thought "ohh they are just poor people seeking a place to live" without thinking about other possible motives for coming here. Even worse we didnt help the poor and destitute very much. What we got was mostly economic migrants, people seeking a better economy for themselves. And we do pay a rather large welfare check to those who dont work so now we have loads of immigrants living off of welfare alone and they are happy about the situation, because they are still richer then what they were back in their home country.

I have friends who are on the other side of politics. If you can't like someone because you disagree your a real baby.

THOUGH AN ARMY ENCAMP AGAINST ME MY HEART WOULD NOT FEAR . THOUGH WAR BREAK OUT AGAINST ME EVEN THEN WOULD I TRUST . THERE IS ONE THING I ASK OF THE LORD, FOR THIS I LONG TO LIVE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE .

They should commission a monument commemorating both legacies of Justice Scalia and Justice Ginsburg for their individual achievements and a symbol of the unity they showed despite their eminence differences

RBG was a great fan of the opera, and she's right...not too many of the prima donnas fare well at the end of a serious opera. Violetta and Mimi die of consumption, Tosca throws herself off a building, Wally throws herself into the path of an avalanche, Norma throws herself into flames, Lucia goes crazy and dies of a broken heart on a top E flat, Brunehilda builds a funeral pyre, gets on her horse and they both jump into the flames and burn up...the list goes on and on. Minni comes out ok I guess...but more fun is Medea. Medea is is rarely performed because the title role is nearly un singable and only great Maria Callas has been successful in its vocal and dramatic demands. Medea is a witch with a bad temper and her husband cheated on her and left her for another woman. She ends up destroying everything he holds dear and at the end of the opera appears surrounded by the Furies and sings "T'arresta! e affisa ben la tua sposa schernita" (hold and see the scored wife!"). She then sets fire to everything and flies away in a chariot pulled by winged serpents as the whole place burns up.

I have seen a few videos pertaining to these two lately and would agree that they represent what we hope to have but lack at the moment. I think when you take a job for life you probably want to get along with the coworkers. Plus they get paid to argue so I am sure they got past the petty stuff before becoming judges.

Hm, its almost like political views don't matter when you personally care about someone.
