What is the relationship between entrepreneurial firms and venture capital? In providing start-up financing, venture capital investment may earn high payoffs if a new technology succeeds, but also risks large losses if it does not. Janeway reviews the various strategies VCs have taken in financing new technology firms and the factors influencing their decision-making. He also discusses the VC's relationship with the entrepreneur and their record in building technologically innovative firms. He also explains why certain sectors might face more obstacles than others in attracting venture capital.

--

In this eight-part series, Bill Janeway investigates the relationship between #venturecapital and technological #innovation, and the interdependent roles of entrepreneurial firms, the mission-driven State and financial speculation in the overall innovation system.

This is such a highly quality course. I'm so impressed and so grateful to INET. Honestly I don't have the technical chops to be able to evaluate the content on its merits, but I really appreciate the unique questions being asked and I feel like I'm learning a lot. Plus the video direction is great. It's very engaging to watch.

Why has this series so few views? I know people on youtube are generally more interested in watching stupid people doing stupid stuff. That said, this should at least have 10-100 times the views!

Venture capitalists give money to companies they think can go public and then ride the few that do. The game hasn’t changed.
