That bmw still had a 8 valve engine in the time of the e46. I know it was the cheapest model but still. I never understood why bmw produced the m42 so shortly. They could have kept that engine as a basic engine for the e46.

We're you able to complete this without stripping the threads out of the block with the head bolts? Did you use new head bolts? How man hours did it take? Did you notice any difference in the performance
