We’ve all had that moment where we wish we could think of something funny to say, but our mind goes blank. It sucks.

So in this video, we’ll go through easy ways to get a laugh in 4 different situations: when someone else is talking, when you get teased and need a comeback, when you’re asked a question, and when you’re telling a story.

And rather than go through examples where you need to be insanely witty, these are purposefully some of the absolute easiest ways you can get a laugh. Do these consistently and people will love being around you.

I work at Barnes and Noble and a lot of the questions I get that start with “I’m looking for a book…” and I sometimes say with a straight face “I’m sorry you came to the wrong place. “ always gets a little laugh lol

Firstly, this is gold. The appearance comeback is a tricky one tho - if the other person is not sure how you feel about them it can make them feel shunned or rejected. With two confident personalities it’s prime but if your not sure - would advise against using it.

My favorite is to give an absurd answer to a question. My favorite to execute. It's always great to see the other person's reaction. I enjoy misinterpretation and it sets people at easy to realize I'm not going to be a hard**s in the conversation

Just recently I subconsciously used one these techniques, and it worked like a charm.

I was working with a new guy, at work. And then we had the usual small talk, and we eventually ended up talking about the town that I lived in because he wasn't from there, and remember him asking me if I went out of town much on the weekends, and me with a straight face said "No, I walk around it" not realising how Absurd that sounded, and this guy immediately burst out into laughter, and I was sitting there confused. It wasn't until 10 minutes later that I realised how silly that sounded considering how big the town was.

I literally just realized that I have been doing this subconciously for the past 10+ years. I struggle mentally a lot and jokes, sarcasm and overall "free" behaviour when I am surrounded by people is always my go to thing. I get invited to parties, group meetings and so on, the only issue is that I literally have to force myself to go there. I know that once I manage to force myself to go, I will love it but the mental struggle that leads to my decision is tough.
