Also I’m primarily a world builder. But I’m trying to become a good DM as well. And I’m thinking of different scenarios that could happens and how they could go. As a sort of way to prepare myself for when my group and I is ready to take on my homebrew setting

I think the greatest threat I encountered as someone who LOVES world building was feeling the need to fill players in on the cool things I came up with. Things got better when I simply hinted at something long lost and mysterious, ex. "you found an exquisite set of knives from the war of Wind & Lihf." - I want my players to have just enough loose lore to be curious and be like, "dude, wtf is the war of Wind & Lihf"; and if they are curious, I have answers (because I built a sweet world); but if they aren't interested, then I won't go on about it.
World building, at its best, can make improv easier because of all the background knowledge I possess, ; but at its worst...World building can lead me to force the world on my players vs letting them be the stars of the play.

Like i said with your last video i love the worldbuilding in James Cameron's movies. He's the reason I'm helplessly obsessed with science fiction. And i always appreciate any advice on worldbuilding for my own campaign. Btw I looked up the book you recommended me, looking for a copy at a good price
