I love the pause before opening the door. He knows he's hurt, the island is lined with kryptonite, and that he probably won't make it but goes anyway. Such a great subtle moment.

This scene is so beautifully done and reminds us why Superman is so powerful. As he casts himself into the sunlight it literally game me chills - something that rarely happens when I watch a film. And it also reminds me that this is our superhero right there! Nobody is better than Superman and Brandon Routh deserved at least one more film I think. The script had its flaws but he was right up there with Reeve in my opinion

I didn’t notice that his eyes were glowing red around the corners when he was using his heat vision. In an interview for the film, Bryan rationalized that heat vision is a waste byproduct of the amount of solar radiation he takes into his body. That makes sense when you think about it.
