Slowest out of the blocks of the 8 finalists; in last place after 20 meters; Lyles powered through to become champion. Awesome performance and fully deserving of the gold; last to first.

As a Black American I agree, I thought that Thompson would win easily but Lyles willed himself to this Gold Medal. One Love Brother!!!

Love this!! That's a real apology! No backhanded nonsense just straight up telling it like it is. 👏👏👏

Anyone saw that Noah even started to congratulate Kishane...?
A seasoned athlete...Understood the game completely...
His top end acceleration is also something

He ran a personal best 9.79s. Noah did fantastic.

Noah has a knack for doing what's necessary when it is necessary. With that said, he is going to have his hands full with Thompson who is only getting started.

Respect to you guys from the US. This is what true sportsmanship is. Lyles is the champ but we will certainly have our hands full with KT in the very near future.

This is a lesson for anyone not even in sports . You run your race in life, you finish strong and then you pick up your rewards. I’m amazed

I’ve heard apologies before, my name is Edward from the great State of Ohio the heart of America. I take my hat off to you, Caribbean brother that was the most earnest Apology that I’ve heard in a very long time.

Kishane came into this race with the physical edge, but Noah had the mental edge, and that's what made the difference in this race. People often underestimate the importance of the mental aspect and the experience aspect of track & field... but Noah Lyles showed today that the mental edge on the big stage can be what makes the difference between gold and silver. Kishane will grow from this though. Big things ahead for that man.

Love how passionate Jamaicans are about athletics! At the end of the day, setting aside the Jamaica-US rivalry, we are track fans above all else. Kishane is a champion in the making. Looking forward to many years of good health and great performances from him.
