The 95 series was one of the truck series that had the Leyland Daf badge for UK Market. Sadly no mention of when Daf merged with Leyland

Fantastic trucks to drive! I currently drive the 5th DAF in my career, and I still enjoy driving them each day! Proud to be a DAF driver.

2800 was popular in the UK as a prime mover, I visited the factory around 4 years ago, very enlightening, DAF was and is very innovative!.

First DAF 95s were a nightmare with all the recalls. Kept me in overtime

DAF stood for : van Doornes Aanhanger Fabriek, aanhanger is Dutch for trailer.
They started making trailers at first.

We dont have many of these in the united states. Everything we drive now is conventional over cab over but drove both over my career.

I'm pretty sure that Kenworth uses (or used) the DAF XF cab for their K500 heavy duty truck, and Kenworth & Peterbilt might be using the CF or LF cab for their medium duty cab-over trucks.

It’s sad that regulations severely limited cabovers here in America!!!! You only find them for refuse or certain construction models...

Hi loved your film on daf the daf engine was based on the leyland 680 engine which they licenced off leyland in 1986 daf and leyland joined together to make leyland daf trucks. The 95 cab was shared with two other truck firms pegaso Spain and seddon atkinson UK which at one time was owned by international.

I passed my test in a DAF, it went all Christmas Tree dashboard in the rain during my warm-up drive with my instructor.

Calmed down just in time for me to pass.

I am surprised that Paccar doesn't sell the DAF truck line here in the US

Another great video, I’ve really enjoyed them all. Can you do one, on the history of Crane Carrier Corp? They were built in my home town for years, until the company was sold, and then the new owners moved production out of state.

Also another fun fact about DAF, they also helped develop APCs for the Dutch and Belgian armed forces. They were also powered by DAFs diesel engines. I forgot what the models of the APCs are so if anyone knows them please add.
