Question 3: Countries that are in stage four of the demographic transition model will see a decrease in their NIR, this can lead to a higher dependency ratio which will put more of a burden on society. By allowing migrants into the country this can help fill gaps in the workforce, not only does this reduce the dependency ratio it also allows for new ideas and products to come into the country. This makes the economy stronger and creates new jobs in the future.
Question 4: Governments can change immigration policies to allow more or less migrants into the country. They can implement programs like the diversity lottery program or chain migration to help reunite families and get different cultures, faiths, and people into the country. This can shape the demographic breakdown of the country. If governments restrict migrants it will reduce the amount of diversity in a country.

Governments are debating if we should let asylum seekers and refugees in.


a. asylum seekers
An asylum seeker is a person who leaves their country of residence, enters another country and applies for asylum in this other country.


b. refugees
People who have been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.


2. What are the social effects of migration?
Citizens get involved in debates over immagration policies


3. How do governments influence the social breakdown of a country?
They can put certain quotas or limitations on certain countries


4. What disadvantages may a country have if they reject migrants?
They will lose diversity in the workforce which prevents new ideas from coming in


5. What is brain drain?
When our skilled labor, our talent leaves the geographic area

Mr.sinn I have a question .So I know that we are supposed to memorize the vocab but what else should we memorize outside of that. How do you deal with questions on FRQ's that ask that you recall specific information? My teacher uses a The a paper where it has the vocab for each chapter and key ideas that we should know. I can memorize the vocab but How do I deal with those key ideas. Another question I have is do you think that we should have a real-world example for each vocab word to memorize?
