Mr. Lou Reed, Mr. New York City, may you rest in peace, I will never forget your absolutely incredible, Uniquely-styled, hard-hitting music. You are one of the greatest legends of rock and roll.

Listening to Lou Reed is more than just hearing music. It's poetry. You can close your eyes and see who he's singing about. Such a legend.

This album came out about a month and a half before I had tickets to see Lou in Denver at the Paramount theater. My wife and I played it constantly. When we went to the concert, Lou played the album in its entirety. The friend that came with us asked how we knew all the lyric's as we sang along! Such a great concert. Lou was in a really good mood and spoke often between songs, making jokes and basically endearing himself with the audience. One of the greatest concerts I've ever been to.

Yesterday, when I arrived home from work, this song popped into my head for no reason I can explain. It's probably been 30+ years since I've even thought about this song. I immediately had to pull up the video on YouTube. I've played this song over a dozen times since then, and I just can't get enough of it. I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot just how incredible this song really is. No one in this world could write lyrics like Mr. Reed. He had a gift for expressing the true nature of this world in song, without sugar coating any of it. This song illustrates the disparity between the uber rich and the destitute poor. After hearing this song for the first time in 30 years, I couldn't help but picture Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia. Lou Reed was definitely one of the most underrated musicians of my time!

It's really a short story or even a novella. So much happening lyrically in 3 minutes and a half. Just brilliant.
