As a juggler who has studied learning efficiency, I have a few really helpful tips for those who want to learn quickly.

1) if you are sore or out of breath, stop. with a max of 30 minutes per session. that's when learning starts to slow down even for those in top condition. but if you can't give it your best anymore, just stop. this might mean 5-minute practice sessions, that's totally fine!
2) spread your practice throughout the day. repetition is key for muscle memory, this also peaks focus and ensures top condition for every session. to me, perfection is 15m before school/work, 15m in your break, 15m when you get home, and 15m in the evening.
3) don't practice until you get it right, practice until you don't get it wrong. you won't learn as fast perfecting easy tricks. when you get a certain trick, move on to a slightly harder variation. get creative with it. When you get the harder variation, the initial trick will feel easy after all.
4) get as many touches per minute. this means not trying things that are too hard because chances are you lose the ball and need to waste precious time starting over. since this will happen anyway, try to find/create a place where it can't get far away.
also, when starting out, chose practice drills that allow for as many touches as possible.
combining tip 3 and 4 will be difficult at first but you'll get the hang of it.
5) thinking about doing something hard is just as effective as doing something hard. think very hard and deep about how you are going to do a new trick before trying them, and use this principle whenever you see a chance throughout the day.
6) come up with your own tricks as well as watching tutorials.
7) analyze movements of pro's in-depth before trying a new trick
8) film yourself and analyze your own movements. compare them to pro's and find flaws.
9) get rid of any bad habits as soon as possible. muscle memory doesn't discriminate.
10) the most important one; sleep more, eat more green, drink more water. being in good health is the most underrated tip I can give you, if your learning slows down but you don't know why it's probably because you are not as fit as you can be.

maybe all of this was just logic and common sense to you but it sure wasn't to me when I started.
I hope I helped at least 1 person with this, let me know if it did!

Thanks Mike, I absolutely Love juggling and do it almost every day. I can do most of these also a few you haven't shown and I learned it all while in my 40"s so to all the young players out there or old that say they can't juggle or it has to be learned when you're young, all I have to say is you can do anything you put your mind to with a little time and its a great way to have fun with the ball. Have a beautiful day!!!

I started practicing juggling almost two months ago and I've definitely seen some progress. I really like seeing this guy do it so effortlessly because it makes me want to get out and keep practicing! Going to practice some of these tomorrow morning!

I started learning to juggle earlier this year and today I have done my first around the world and it's really satisfying. Thanks to all the YouTube videos I had watch to learn the mechanics.

I love how smooth and simple you made these look. A good target for us to work towards. I've always wanted to be able to do an Around the World and I think your "start from a foot stall" tip might actually get me there! :)
