Shoutout to my buddy Kevin. He walks up to me one afternoon in 11th grade study hall. Sits across the table from me and says "Well, we're f@#ked." I asked what he meant and he said "Led Zeppelin is playing at the Coliseum tonight and we don't have tickets." I hadn't thought about it but suddenly said, "Well, we can try and sneak in." We did, it was legend.

I was there. Almost didn't make it. We were involved in a 50 car smash up on the way there. Actually we shouldn't have even lived through the crash. I was sitting in the passenger seat of a vw bug going 60 and heading for a pack of cars. Suddenly the two cars in front of us split like the red sea. Now probably still going 40 and bracing for impact like that would have helped the next two cars split apart also. We were going less than 20 mph when we bounced off a couple stopping without a scratch. My friends mom and dad came to Tacoma with two cars and we made it to this incredible show. Thank you God!

Man Seattle always got a great performance whenever Zeppelin was in town

I just love Jimmy in 1975 especially No Quarter and Stairway. He was clean and had great melodic phrasing. Add the long ass hair covering his face and low slung Gibson and then you see where Slash got all his moves.

LZ took it to another level! Nobody comes close to their live stuff when they were in the pocket! Bonham always sounds good. This bootleg and soundboard thing is badass! Their ability to improv every song beyond the album version is pure talent!

Was at this show along with seeing Pink Floyd the next week. It was a hell of a week. Two friends of ours were able to sneak in when someone opened the doors before the concert. At Pink Floyd we were going to do the same thing but there were too many cops. Found someone that had a extra ticket.

Robert's voice on Trampled, holy crap!...Jonesy, Jimmy & John on the superfast part of Dazed and Confused, holy crap! You think they're winding down and then they just fire back up for ANOTHER 20 MINUTES IN ONE SONG, these guys were INCREDIBLE. Oh and they're jammin on Whole Lotta Love and The Crunge. And Plant is KILLING it on In My Time of Dying.

another out of the blue -jazzy cool rockin' No Quarter... No band ever did this type of thing/treatment of their own songs, making them not only better but totally unique.

Well it sounds like Plant finally got over his flu here. His voice is strong here! The band is obviously playing very well this night. They sound happy...which was rare in early stages of this tour. Who the hell plans a tour of North America in freakin January anyway? Who knows, maybe some of the venues were already booked for later in the year. They sounded best towards the end of this tour and this is definitely a command performance.

I was nine years old on this very evening and sitting in my bedroom at my parents house - which was about 2 or 3 miles from the Seattle Center Coliseum. A month or so after this Yes played this same venue. In '79 I saw Queen at the Coliseum here and that was the biggest, hugest most gdamn amazing thing I'd ever seen or heard. My friend, Mark Renstrum, and I were fortunate enough to have Brian May approach about 5 of us who were hanging around backstage after that show.

I was 13 when my neighbour and I scored tix for the 1980 Zep show in Detroit. Well we all know what happened! So now I imagine myself at the Joe Louis while I listen to all their great bootlegs.
