Used one to hold a windshield wiper on too. The clip was broken off, so just thread a tie wrap thru it and it held forever, even in cold winter weather.

shoe lace option is d best, as I dislike laces. Pot lid option may be incorrect., as heat disolves plastic.

The cigarette lighter one is more trouble than it's worth because the point of putting it in a bag is to take it somewhere and then
you 'd need scisors to take the tie off and a spare one to put back on to take it home again! I like the idea of them as a shoe tie but lack of flexability would make getting shoes on and off really tricky.

Used one to hold a wiper blade on our car when the pin that holds it on got lost. Worked great, even in cold winter weather.

You can put them round Tyres for more grip in winter and you can get rummer grips handlebars with them to, so many uses!
