Dear Friends, why the Government of India wishes to end with old tax regime, is a very important question which was going on in my mind and probably you might also be fighting with the same. In my opinion, Lack of deductions in new regime makes it unfavorable. Since there are certain expenses like insurance etc..., which an individual should make. Giving out such expenses from the taxable income makes it more dearer. Yes, investments are important but a portion of income should be saved. Thereby, savings should be promoted, which is available in old regime.

Savings that Indian households do, make them more resiliant to risks like pendamic etc. or risks in their individual lives. Govt wants to squeeze out every last drop of that juice from the sugarcane. I Think no opposition to govt. In any ways, complete control of information flow has enabled govt. To take up such decisions without public opinion and I don't think public opinion matter to them any more.
