I had someone steal from my business as well. I hired him as an employe and slowly things went missing like construction tools, batteries, clothes, ect. One day I happen to be pawning my laptop before it got stolen too and I happen to find some familiar items for sale :). I filed a police report and they reviewed who did it and it was him. They kept an eye on him until I could prove the items were mine (vin numbers and receipts ) which I did provide. Then they tracked him straight to his house with his cell phone number

It’s the worst part about the business.
As a previous pawn shop owner it was so difficult to find trustworthy employees. That’s why you’ll see a lot family ran shops but even family steal

That sucks soooo much. Having someone you trust steal from you is so much worse than a customer stealing. Alot of business owners would just brush this under the rug and fire the employee for something else but good on you for putting this up so nobody else gets taken advantage of.

It's sad that the justice system works so devotedly to protect the thieves, but you have to work insanely hard as an honest person, to get it to work for you.
