When I hear someone like Noam Chomsky being considered one of the most prominent and important intellectuals, I can obviously make sense of that. When I hear someone like Ben Shapiro or Jordan Peterson being considered as serious intellectuals or whatnot, I just feel embarrassed and quite severely astonished.

THANK YOU! I was getting TIRED of these Tulsi Stans bashing on the GND and acting like the "OFF ACT" is a replacement. The Off Act would be IN the GND! Pay attention people! Also, Tulsi is a cosponsor of The Green New Deal.

I got to meet Dr. Chomsky over a decade ago and it was such an amazing experience. It's amazing that such a well-regarded intellectual and policy critic is so ignored by the mainstream media here in the U.S.

There is no conflict between the Green New Deal and the Off Act. The Green New Deal is a commitment to doing something legislatively to combat climate change and the Off Act is an example of some legislation that should be implemented as one of the bills that will fulfill the commitment to act on climate change.

Brilliant as usual Mike. I have never heard anybody who understands the multiple implications of the GND as you explain them here. Between Chomsky, Bernie, AOC and you, we have all the relevant analyses of issues we need.

The green new deal falls short when it comes to stopping the biggest polluter: the military complex . AOC needs to talk about the pollution created by the military

You're smart as hell but you're also willing to give older wiser people the benefit of your doubt. That will make you even smarter over time. Well done.

Thank you Mike for mentioning Tulsi's Off Act. And I agree with you 💯%. We Progressives need to come together and fight climate change. It's too important of an issue to be divided on.

I will never vote for anyone who doesn't support the Green New Deal, or any other legislation like it. Step up or step out of the way.

A radical libertarian socialist understands that, yes while it's faulty because it still works under a capitalist frame, it'll still a great start.

It's not only that climate change will increase the need for healthcare, it is also that if you want to get people engaged in the problem of climate change, you can't have people entirely focused on surviving the dragonian for profit health care system you currently have. Take that source of stress and economic worry from people's shoulders, and they'll be able to carry something else on those shoulders - like responsibility for a smaller carbon foot print, and responsibility for political action to lead the nation towards a carbon neutral future.

This is a problem that all nations of Earth must adress, and we can't afford to drag our feet.
