I like how it's like "HEARD you moved into the avenues, " and it says, "maybe you should give your EARS to me." Then next chorus it says "SAW you changed your clothes, " and "Maybe you should give your EYES to me." Like, everything this person does, he then takes away their ability to do that thing that they could've done. Also, with the last chorus, too, "TALKED with everyone" and "Give your MOUTH to me." Just a cool little detail I noticed.

I noticed that every time he says, "Give your X to me" he says something after that would require that X to dispute it, for example: He says, "Maybe you should give your ears to me" and then says, "None of your friends even like you" which would require you to hear your friends say that they do like you.

Probably ties into how over the course of the song he gradually gets more and more controlling, and even starts manipulating your friends' words to say something they didn't; Maybe he's meant to represent social anxiety?

I feel like this is a song about someone trying to get their life together, and has someone manipulating them and controlling their life and convincing them that they are helping them but they are just making everything worse by secluding them from a social life

oh. i had a friend with this exact mindset. I believe they had depression and social anxiety. The bit about the person "talking sense" and wanting to "max out your credit card" is a metaphor for therapy not working for some people, right? It didn't work for my friend either. My friend actually did the "change your clothes and make new friends" part too... or at least she did the changing clothes part. She wanted to start over.

God I absolutely love this. Dude keep up the fantastic content and music! Everything about this style of music and video is so unique and I’m living for it! So underrated, I’m telling you. Reminds me a bit of jack stauber and bill wurtz in the sense of dreamy nastolgic synths and the aesthetic of music videos, however you put your own unique twist to it and make it so fresh.
