Mineola, NY Thunderbolt 1003 6pm Test - 9/28/18

The bolt at Mineola’s headquarters going off at 6 o clock. This is a badass siren that’s low pitch and can be heard from all around the county. Horn was chopped downward by the FD prior to installation to try and reduce the noise. Siren runs 90 seconds of hi-lo for general cycle and a 31 second hi-lo round for a 6pm test. Back before 2021 it was an 18 second round. Diaphones are not used

The siren has a stuck solonoid so the chopper keeps buzzing and the horn is pointing down probably from from a loose bolt either way it sound amazing and different from other 1003s

I can prove that the collector ring is fine, if the collector was not fine the chopper would be destroyed and they probably wouldn’t use the siren if they did it wouldn’t sound like anything but if your super close it would sound like a Thunderbolt blower

Update, the siren has been removed and a new was pulled put up another thunderbolt 1003
