Kanga VFFS Robotic Pouching System with FANUC Collaborative Robot - RND Automation & Engineering

FANUC America Authorized System Integrator RND Automation and Engineering recently released its latest manufacturing solution, the Kanga Poucher. RND developed this VFFS system to pair with a FANUC CR-7iA/L Collaborative Robot to produce up to 20 products per minute.

The system starts as the FANUC CR-7iA/L automatically loads product into the Kanga Poucher with its customized product feed tooling. The FANUC CR-7iA/L reduces the need for protective guarding. An operator can work side by side with the FANUC collaborative robot. The product is then placed between the two sides of the pouch, and the case is formed around the product. The Kanga Poucher accommodates a variety of materials including foils, plastics, anti-static and Tyvek.

The unique, hot swappable die set enables quick product change-over to reduce downtime and increase productivity. The Kanga Poucher also has a footprint that is 30 to 50 percent smaller than comparable equipment on the market. The Kanga Poucher includes a variety of custom options including validation, UDI, barcode or inkjet print, nitrogen purge and vision. The FANUC CR-7iA/L safely stops upon operator contact, and can be easily maneuvered with minimal force.
