The Top Ten Frenchie Color and Feature Trends of 2020!

Looking at some of the most popular French Bulldog Colors for 2020 as ranked by google trends. While these French Bulldogs' colors are extremely popular, they are not necessarily the most expensive or rare. Color Patterns and attributes outside of colour, such as brindle, fawn , merle were also looked at as stand-alone French bulldog features.

I know it's about colours on here, how about structure, snout length etc ? Frenchies seem to come in all sizes the bully type, terrier type flatter face etc etc what do people prefer ?

I just paid for my first ever dog/frenchie and I can’t wait to meet him. He’s a Lilac Fawn Merle with blue eyes it’s crazy !

There are only a few standard colors in the Frenchie : fawn and brindle, combined with white or totally white. Blue, tan-pattern, long coat, merle are the result of crossing with other breeds and/or inbreeding. This breed has other priorities than selecting on color only, for instance : longer nose, no more c-sections, better skin ...

Color
Acceptable colors: white, cream, fawn (ranging from light fawn to a red fawn), or any combinations of the foregoing. Markings and patterns are: brindle, piebald, black masks, black shadings, and white markings. Ticking is acceptable but not desired. Brindle ranges from sparse but clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background to such heavy concentration of black striping that the essential fawn background color barely shows through (“black brindle”). Only a trace of the background color is necessary; in a brindle piebald, a trace of the brindle patterning in any patch is sufficient. All other colors, markings or patterns are a disqualification. Disqualifying colors and patterns include, but are not limited to, solid black, black and tan, black and white, white with black, blue, blue fawn, liver, and merle. Black means black without a trace of brindle.

We have two Blues, blood brothers, same Mom/Dad just 2 litters apart. They are so bonded and it’s awesome having 2 different shades of blue, ones very blue and the other is much lighter. We have always been Frenchie parents, love, love, love this breed.

Fun fact: French Bulldogs can’t reproduce naturally, so they have to reproduce through artificial Insemination. Most births frequently occur through c-section.

Blue is actually a disqualification color for French Bulldog breed standard, and is discouraged! It’s discouraged because of the health complications that can occur, and is considered to be greedy over benefiting the breed. The two recessive genes that make up the dilution of black to blue, can also lead to a genetic disorder known as Color Dilution Alopecia!
