Since its launch on February 9th at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show, the Mazda MX-5 has caused a sensation. It was an instant hit on a global scale -- and the thrill of ownership continues on!

A brilliant car, in fact, the only car for me . I've had four since 2008, all new, top down always ( unless it's chucking it down ) . It's the best looking car on the road, including the really expensive stuff, at 84 years, just driving it anywhere is a pleasure .

I am a long time petrol head and have had my share of jags, bentleys, lotus etc but never a mazda MX5, I recently took a 1998 MX5 really clean one in part ex for a car I was selling, and it owes me only about £700..I can't believe what a cracking little car it is and would not have bothered with one am hooked, and will be now joining the owners club !!!

It's true what there saying. I drove a 911sc for years, and although I loved that car, my 2006 MX5 is my favorite car of all.

3:06 She's wrong. I love the MX5 but there are other cars with the same cult status where owners wave at each other. The original Mini and the original VW Beetle are two examples.
