Whenever the history of the Indian automobile industry is written, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be cited as one the biggest successes. Critics may have called it boxy, dull and utilitarian, not fun-to-drive and what not. But it proved them all wrong and with its simplistic approach, terrific functionality and gratifying space and affordability, the WagonR has become one of the favourite urban cars of our consumers. The latest new generation Wagon-R model that was launched at starting price of 4.19 lakhs . 

The new Maruti WagonR is based on the Heartect platform, The Heartect platform is not only much lighter for better performance and fuel efficiency, but it's also stronger and more rigid for superior safety, handling and also ride comfort.

The 2021 WagonR is longer (3655 mm), taller (1675 mm) and more importantly, also wider (1620 mm) than the outgoing model.

The vehicle gets a new fascia with sweptback headlamps, new bumper with updated fog lamp housing and a new grille design with a single chrome strip in the centre. The rear section now gets vertical tail lamps along with contrasting chrome and black elements.

Inside the vehicle gets a dual-tone cabin with multifunction steering wheel and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The vehicle also gets a restyled instrument cluster. This time around, the vehicle more safety features in form of ABS with EBD, front seat belts reminder, speed alert system and an optional passenger airbag.

2021 Maruti Wagon R comes with two engine options: a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol. The 1.2-litre engine produces 83PS and 113Nm while the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine is good for 68PS and 90Nm. Both engines are offered with 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. The Wagon R is also offered in a CNG variant with the 1.0-litre engine. Its output figures stand at 60PS and 78Nm. Its claimed fuel efficiency is as follows:

* 1.0-litre MT/AMT- 21.79kmpl
* 1.0-litre CNG- 32.52km/kg
* 1.2-litre MT/AMT- 20.52kmpl
aruti Suzuki Wagon R price starts at ₹ 5.14 Lakh and goes upto ₹ 6.84 Lakh. The price of Petrol version for Wagon R ranges between ₹ 5.14 Lakh - ₹ 6.84 Lakh and the price of CNG version for Wagon R ranges between ₹ 6.01 Lakh - ₹ 6.08 Lakh.
