The teen who turned down $5,000 from Elon Musk to stop tracking Musk’s private jet has now started a business called “Ground Control”. You can buy T-shirts and stickers featuring Elon Musk and an airplane on the Ground Control website
Since 2020, University of Central Florida student Jack Sweeney has used a bot to track Musk's private jet's takeoffs and landings on Twitter.
Elon Musk offered Jack Sweeney, $5,000 to delete his Twitter account that tracks the billionaire's private jet. ElonJet has over 340,000 followers and employs a bot created by Sweeney to track Musk's flights. The feed then tweets when and where the plane takes off and lands, as well as the length of each trip.
Musk declined the offer and eventually stopped communicating with Sweeney, who has maintained the Twitter account. The college freshman has created a dozen other flight bot accounts that track the movements of high-profile tech titans such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos.

All information on aircraft, in the USA, flying under air traffic controlled conditions, which is almost all of them-and most certainly any aircraft flying at altitude, on published and required air routes to any airport or metro area of size- is a public record. The registration, or tail number or the companies flight number, is publicly available knowledge to anyone that wants to know and is coordinated with active flight information of that tail number. Its all public information and easily accessed at flightaware (for example) and probably more than a few other places.
