-History
'Hallo Bandoeng' is a song about the first telephone connection between the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies. In the song, a mother is calling his son, living in the Dutch East Indies. Later on she hears her youngest grandson for the first time, which causes her to suffer a heart attack from happiness. You can find many interesting facts about the Dutch East Indies in the lyrics. For instance the word 'tabe' is an eastern way of saying hi, but also goodbye and was used very often during the period.
