In this Video we are going to demonstrate how to do Manual Partition or Customized partitioning of Hard disk
in lubuntu 18.10 Virtual Machine in VirtualBox 5.2 during Installation. After Installation we will
verify whether Processor Cores and disk size are configured properly. This video will be useful for beginners
who likes to do Manual partitioning with customized size to each directory in file system. This custom
partitioned Virtual Machine can be used as Development Environment for Java, PHP, Python and Database installations etc.
Here we are using 200 GB Virtual Hard Drive and allocating 16GB RAM and Six Core Intel Xeon E5 Processor to the Ubuntu VM.

Thank you for this informative video. It helped me get started with partitioning a new device. However, one thing that was missing was any mention of the flags that I needed to set for each partition. On my first attempt at setup, I was warned that my device may not boot, since my boot partition did not have the 'esp' flag set. I was able to get a working environment by setting the following values:

Select ‘New Partition Table’ and ‘Master Boot Record’. Click ‘OK’
Click on the Free Space entry, then click on Create.
Change the following parameters: Size: 512 MiB; File System: fat32; Mount Point: /boot/efi; Flags: boot esp. Click ‘OK’
Click on the Free Space entry, then click on Create.
Subtract 4096 from the size value (for a 4GiB swap) and replace the existing value with that result. Change the following parameters: Mount Point: /; Flags: root. Click ‘OK’
Click on the Free Space entry, the click on Create.
Change the following parameters: File System: linuxswap; Flags: swap. Click ‘OK’

I chose a single root partition, as this is a dedicated, single-purpose device

can you please upload a video with bar minimum configuration so that we can have data on separate partition and OS on separate one - such that we can upgrade/replace OS in future without loosing data.

Do you need to make so many partitions? seems a bit unneccassary.
