Reboot is required to make the software work properly.
And reboot is required if you want to use you PC next day.

Have run into lots of issues with Windows, but it's still my go-to OS. I guess I'd rather have bugs than be completely locked down with what I can do on a Mac. Linux is nice but doesn't work with most software I use. Taking my data and running ads on my PC though pisses me off though on windows if I could get rid of that I'd stick with windows.

I mostly like Win10, but what makes me hate it sometimes are the following:
- FORCED UPDATES that sometimes end up screwing up other things. A good example is how an update totally messed up the WD EX2 Ultra NAS device. WD did put out an update, but there are still issues where Windows causes some kind of problem and some folders are files become Access Denied. There doesn't seem to be a solid fix for that other than a total reset and start over of the NAS.

- The known issue where sometimes, a network mapped drive just disappears and when you re-map it with Explorer, it's there, but then doesn't show up in a CMD window (or visa versa).

- Constant "notification" sound effects WITH NO VISUAL INDICATION OF WHAT'S CAUSING IT!
Also others reporting this.

The list does go on.

I keep a couple of Win7 boxes going and in fact, my "main" computer is an ASUS ROG 3D Laptop, i7, 24G RAM, nVidia with 3G, etc. I refuse to upgrade it to 10 because as it is right now, it's totally stable, no issues and no annoying bugs happening. Well, except that I do have to reboot it every 2-3 weeks. LOL

Updates take somewhere between 5-6 hours. A couple of months ago it kept me up all night for a record breaking 20+ hours of update. It leaves me wondering how could something so basic can take so long. I normally download files in excess of 1 gb in few minutes but the update files amounting to a few hundred mbs take hours to download. I think they do it on purpose to irritate the users after all that's what M$ is best known for - irritating the users! It takes nearly 30 mins to get a fully usable system after boot, things keep getting in the way and prevent the users from being productive. The list is endless.

I swear at my Mac a couple times a day. When I have to use Windoz, it's a couple times a minute...

I feel like in a nutshell what really irritates me about windows today is how simplified it's been (attempted to be) to the end user and it self manages so much that when it messes up neither you nor it know how to fix it.

Mint it? (Yes, Linux can also be a tricky pain, but it's sooo not that Windows pain 🥳)
