Developed for the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood by the Center for Early Childhood Education at Eastern Connecticut State University, the training includes topics such as appreciating parenting differences, barriers that prevent dads from full engagement, and talking with families about including fathers. It also has information about engaging other positive male role models, the specific challenges facing teen dads, and how your own life experiences related to fatherhood may impact your interactions with fathers.
The training includes videos of home visitors describing strategies for working with fathers - and fatherhood and early childhood experts discussing the importance of reaching out to fathers.
