this is really good, the laptop is doing about 70% of the performance with only 50% of the power comsumption

The difference between the desktop counterparts increases the higher in the hierarchy you go, the 3060 and the 3060 mobile is a ton closer in performance to each other and hence a great value and performance for laptops.

Everyone crying about laptop 3080ti performance might never had a gaming laptop before lol. I expected half of the performance but it managed to have around 70% is very impressive with half of the power consumption. The temps are good too for staying under 80, I remembered 2000 series gaming laptop will usually hit 90 and above. Laptop performance did improved a lot in t
hese years.

Another thing that i noticed is the power consumption in gaming for the mobile i9 vs desktop, sometimes the desktop has twice the power consumption, but evety single game here is basically GPU limited.

Every laptop user should know this.
1.
Just “raise the bottom” let more air into the machine and you will found cpu&gpu each them reduce 10~15°C or in high usage will have more efficacy
2.
You shouldn’t be use “laptop cooler”, cuz that effectiveness actually just like you put two bottle caps under laptop to raise it.
But the cooler still use your limited power and it will let cpu&gpu become more hungry.
Unless it has an “independent power supply”.

There also very many ways let your experience better, like
“gamer most of the time should limit cpu’s PL1&PL2 and offset voltage”
“discrete graphics card overclock”.

well, a lot of people dont have ampere in comments. which is understandable as to why they dont know you can retain 98% performance with a -100w undervolt on an ampere card. the 3000 series have a lot of headroom, i run my 3080 ftw3 at 265w 1840mhz boost clock. try out undervolting curves if you have one.

Difference would be greater if you use the strix Oc 3080 Ti and suprim x3080 ti. Gpu clockspeed were like 1920-1950 mhz stock

Impressive, now I'm liking my Scar 17 SE even more.
Sure desktop have more perfromance but that extra 40% wattage certainly doesn't turn into 40-50% more frames.

As we can see the laptop struggle the performance because of heat.
But for the cooling of a laptop + the power consumption, performance still incredible.

Combine to the price, I think it's really the gold time of laptop again.
Too bad that you still cannot upgrade them (or only very few things)

At the end of the day you can run pretty much most games at ultra 60fps+ even some cases having ray tracing and that to me is an outstanding achievement.

just when i was thinking of selling my dekstop to get me a laptop, as finding these gpu's at a sensible price is impossible, guess im gonna be keeping my Desktop, awesome video @Testing Games

Obviously desktop wins because the gpu needs to be flat (small)in case of laptops but not in desktops
Moreover laptop gpu will have relatively a little more heat issues than desktop gpu because laptop gpu is kept in a compact place
