Amy's Song (live) - Rob Scallon & Mary Spender

A little tune that Mary and I put together. Performed live at Uptown Recording Studios.
also on Spotify, Google Play... pretty much everywhere else music is...

This is a bit of a reimagining of an old song of mine.
We wanted to see if reworking it and adding an amazing vocalist could lead to some cool stuff. Would love to hear what you think.

My guitar courses are available within the Guitareo membership :)
Also, my beginner course, GuitarQuest, is still available on it's own too

The channel is supported in part by Sweetwater’s affiliate program. Thanks for that!

Rob and mary, last year I lost my wife of 28 years. She lost a long battle with heroin, and overdosed. When I heard this song you two had sung it made me remember the good times
Thank you David

😭😭😭🥰🤘🏻 Amy is my sister’s name. I know this song isn’t about how one 40something yr old woman feels for her younger 40something ur old sister, but it stirs up my feelings of gratitude for a life that has always included her and and how, no matter what we’ve been through in our lives, from being toddlers together to now being mothers of adult children, nobody will ever know and love me like my Amy. Nobody could ever replace my Amy.
She’s done a lot for me always, and I was just reminded that I need to thank her. 😭😭😭

Amy's Song (Rob Scallon and Mary Spender rework)

Verse
Standing out against the wall
Looking down the corridor
I know I won't be here much longer

Trying not to reminisce
Of all the things that will be missed
Losing you could not get much harder

Chorus
You've done a lot for me lately,
You've done a lot for me lately,
I should pay you back somehow, Amy

Verse
Holding on to all is hope
Realizing I couldn't cope
Constantly just bailing at water

Sinking this relationship
Knowing as I couldn't give
Anything, close enough to matter

Chorus
You've done a lot for me lately,
You've done a lot for me lately,
I should pay you back somehow, Amy

I know I've run away again,
A thousand miles, from a friend
Did you, ever feel me leave?

All I'll do is pay the Ford
The waves of guilt sent from abroad
Tenderness was never meant for me

Tag
You've done a lot for me lately,
You've done a lot for me lately,

Last Chorus
You've done a lot for me lately,
You've done a lot for me lately,
I should pay you back somehow, Amy

I should pay you back somehow
