After Warren Buffett reveals that one of Berkshire Hathaway’s two portfolio managers has bought “some” Amazon stock, he rejects the suggestion it’s a sign the company is changing its long-standing investment philosophy. He and Charlie Munger, however, have some regrets over a lost tech opportunity for which they are “atoning.”

Warren Buffett learned about value investing from Benjamin Graham who is considered to be the father of value investing. in his book "The Intelligent Investor" Benjamin Graham introduces some key principles regarding the stock market and investing. Graham suggests a way of finding the intrinsic value of a business, by Estimating all of a company's future cash flows.
Then calculate the present value of each of these future cash flows.
And Then Sum up the present values to obtain the intrinsic value of the stock.

Those and more are presented in the book "The Intelligent Investor" which Warren Buffett refers to as "The best investing book ever written".
