I agree with what he says in the end, and I want to add that not only it makes us better person with others, but also with ourselves. If we are more comprehensive with people in general, we can realize that sometimes we are not the problem, it's the situation we are in that makes us behave that way.

I use situational attribution by default. When I think about why someone did something I look for what might have lead them to that situation to see why they might have done what they did. I have tried to do this as much as I could but this is the first time I've had this described to me or hear those words

This can possibly be used for first time or one time incidents concerning the subject. But when it is repetitive behavior displayed by the subject, then obviously this theory is not so applicable. then an internal explanation is probably more applicable
